The Channel

The Light and Energy Channel was formed from an idea of putting together the interests of two business associates, Claire Whiles and Duncan Smith. The channel aims, like the BBC, to inform and entertain. However, the subjects covered in the channel’s programmes will definitely be rather more esoteric and alternative than the general output of the BBC!

My interest in all things spiritual and “alternative” started as a little girl in the late 1960s, I felt a need to be in the open air of the countryside, having a connection with nature and often questioned things that were considered the “norm”.

I was an avid reader of Arthur C. Clarke’s mysterious world that my late father subscribed to, was fascinated by re-incarnation and convinced this was not my first time in this world.  Visiting ancient sites was part of our school holiday trips with Avebury being top of the list always!

Through my working life I have been closely involved with peoples wellbeing and qualified as a Naturopathic Nutritionist and EFT (Emotional freedom Technique ) Practioner in 1995.  I am also attuned to Reiki frequencies 1 and 2.

I run a busy health and wellbeing centre in Weymouth Dorset bringing together a multitude of professionals in the field of wellbeing and spirituality.

For me The Light and Energy Channel represents a bringing together and sharing of world wide interests and knowledge in all things complementary and spiritual and I am delighted to be able to share this with you.

My interest in all things “alternative” started, like Claire, at an early age but was fired by technology and science fiction. I always enjoyed reading about the unusual and unconventional. In later life I studied the media and began to realise that there was a potentially more “real world” that we do not hear about through conventional means. Thankfully my self-education, non-conformist thinking and love of learning allowed me to easily accept that there are many ways of seeing the world. Of course once you head down this rabbit hole there is no going back and you must arm yourself with Ninja like critical thinking skills and apply them anything you see, hear or read.

More conventionally I trained as a teacher, have been in social work with children and families, a foster parent, social photographer, film and video maker, motion graphic artist, website developer and now Internet TV producer.

The Future

Both Claire and I hope The Light and Energy Channel will grow into a valued resource for free thinking, exploration, truth seeking and new ideas. We hope to add new TV shows in the future to compliment our current Light and Energy Show. We will be taking the views of our audience very seriously when it comes to choosing a new show to launch.
